Minecraft builders are renovating 1.19 update's old cities as if they never got destroyed.

As as if the gloomy and dark world of Minecraft 1.19 was not enough, brave builders are on hand to complete the entire redesign. You know, just little bit of building in between other projects.

The vast, crumbling structures deep underground are quite creepy. They have ruinous pillars that abound in the darkness, surrounded by Sculk blocks, and shriekers that call an officer to summon you if you aren't in their territory.

Maybe the wardens are only unhappy because their homes are in disrepair however. Luckily, these builders are restoring the old cities to restore them to their former splendor. A lot of these cities have been completely renovated with lush cave greenery to show that they were once true cities. Others have their own stories and lighten the dark with lots of bright blocks. At least one chose to keep the atmosphere dark. Perhaps ancient cities were always dangerous. The most daring builders have completed their construction in a hardcore mode, not in a creative. I'm not going to do this.

Unsorted Guy restores an ancient city to its former glory. In this build showcase (opens in new tab), Unsorted Guy explains how he began by replacing all the sculk with deepslate blocks, converted the ceilings to stalactites and then brought in tons of leaves and vines from the lush caves. In addition to restoring all the structures, Unsorted Guy relocates some grass blocks and digs out an aquisition, and even constructs his take on an ancient city farm. This was once a bustling place. With all that water, the final build definitely has a hidden mountain city feel to it.

The Andyisyoda reimagined city making me feel big Atlantis impressions. There's plenty of greenery that is being added to the site. I suppose no one would want to believe that these underground cities were always grey and uncolored, right?

The timelapse of the build shows Andyisyoda building amazing bridges that span a layer of water, all dripping in vines. Don't worry, they preserved some of the spookiness intact with a lava moat that encircles the massive center portal. They have a complete sunken city with towers, and huge greenery that draping over the top.

Fixxitt412 was able to design the city entirely by hand, in hardcore survival mode. This means that there's no life after death. Fixxitt412 spent 100 days. The construction of Fixxitt is also green , with manicured areas dotted with flowers and farms. However, they haven't eliminated all the sculk completely, which is good.

This building has a mysterious feeling to it with lots of light and stained glass erupting from the copper conduits at the top of the central portal. There are even homes for villagers to live in the darkness. I wonder how long they'll last.

Another lush subterranean city was built by RandomGgames (opens in new tab) and OceanManRulesZaWardo. The one you see is more crowded and could even be abandoned like the other cities of the past. It is surrounded by a lot of leaves, vines and traditional glowstone blocks to illuminate it, much like other gorgeous green structures. It appears that the two have cleared out pretty much all the sculk and replaced it with wooden walkways and arches made of deep slate.

This "build" is actually just two screenshots (opens new tab) however it's an impressive image, and I couldn't resist including it for all of the other people who are looking for inspiration in this room.

This is the total opposite of all these calming, green recreations of the old city. If Seggie ever fleshed this out, I have no doubt it would end up looking like a more terrifying place than a Nether fortress. The skull archway and blue flames look very threatening.

Okay I'm not sure if this is an actual Minecraft build at all. This Lego set is based on Veyniac540's early cities (opens in a new tab). But , seriously, that's really cool. They've even put together the building instructions and parts list in case you would like to build it yourself (opens in new tab).
